Celebrity Millennium Sails in Hope for Saint Lucia’s Cruise Sector

Celebrity Millennium officially berthed at Pointe Seraphine, Castries today, just about 7:40 a.m. bringing 414 passengers to the island, 404 of which are fully vaccinated adults, along with 10 minors.
The Ministry of Tourism, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Events Company of Saint Lucia along with the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority, Management of Duty-Free Pointe Seraphine Shopping Complex – Invest Saint Lucia, employees of Tour Agents – Foster and Ince and Cox and Company Ltd. welcomed guests to the sounds of cultural steel pan music and a masquerade depicting a mini carnival. There were also warm greetings from three Saint Lucian nationals employed with Celebrity Millennium who expressed the joy of being back home and back on the job.

HOSPITALITY sector personnel have been devising innovative ways to keep their businesses afloat in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.
The latest initiative involves Cap Maison teaming up with two independent restaurants on island to present a feature event, dubbed: “Three Chefs Dinner Experience”.

The event is due for May 24 at The Cliff @ Cap. And guests will get to savour the culinary delights from three respective chefs.
Cap Maison general manager, Ross Stevenson is excited about the event. He said the concept is intended to give hotel guests an option of dining out at these respective restaurants; while it would also help bring in some much needed income to these ‘hard hit’ restaurants and provide some economic relief to its staffers.

TEF Donates Six Bicycles to RSLPF

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) added six more bicycles to its Bicycle Patrol Unit on Monday 26th April 2021, courtesy of the St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association’s Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF).
The new Fuji SR Suntour bicycles will be used in the Gros Islet district and compliment a previous donation of bicycles to the RSLPF by the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) after the Bicycle Patrol Unit was piloted nearly three years ago.

The official handover ceremony was held at Police Headquarters at Chesterfield on Bridge Street, Castries, on Monday this week.
