the path is gilded with the potential for rich returns. former vice president pence is defending the republican national committee, even after it voted to censure representatives liz cheney and adam kinzinger. just because of their roles in the select committee investigating january 6th. that resolution described the events that day as, quote, legitimate political discourse. pence argued yesterday the rnc was not referring to the people who engaged in violence at the cap capitol. i just don t i just don t know too many people around the
slates of fake electors. joining us now is attorney and contributing columnist for the washington post , george conway. george, so great to see you this morning. i m curious to know what you think about this. before the investigation was really focused on rioters. we have seen hundreds of people charged in that. people who actually stormed the cap capitol. now it is getting closer to former president trump. what do you think about this? well, i think and i hope that they are doing exactly what attorney general garland said in january they were doing. they are following the facts where they lead, they are doing what prosecutors usually do in large organized crime cases, which is work their way from the bottom up. and so the bottom will be the people who are on the ground at the capitol, the proud boys and the whatnot and other people who were behaving badly there. but the middle level is the people are the people who organized the rally. what did they know? what did they do?

these police officers who defended them and this capitol on january 6th. we re seeing video, that shows how chaotic, how dangerous, how stri violent everything was. and we re hearing from officer michael fanone. he suffered a brain injury and a heart attack. he went to introduce himself to congressman clyde here at the cap capitol. he said that clyde wouldn t shake his hand. he said he defended the capitol. and clyde turned from him. here s more on fanone. he was on new day earlier today. congressman clyde has made some incendiary remarks, downplaying the event. to be honest with you, downplaying, it was disingenuous. he out and out lied. the reality is, at this point, if you re going to sling bull
