The nine students combined to win the sweepstakes award.
“The sweepstakes award is for the school with the most (wins) in their class,” Fulton said.
Zayden Burks, Josh Mardis, Kade Lawrence, Hudson Dear, Whit Powers, Cutter Maddox, Tyler Troyer, Tyler Shoenenberger and Austin Shoenenberger all received blue ribbons for their projects, leading to the sweepstakes award.
“Blue is for a top quality build,” Fulton said of the welding projects first judged on merit and then against class. “They are all student done with only supervision.”
Burks, a senior, built a gooseneck trailer and captured first in his class, and the reserve champion award in his division, to lead the Canyon manufacturing Academy students.
