Canvey dispersal zone launched over unauthorised car meet defying Covid rules POLICE have launched a dispersal zone on Canvey over an unauthorised car meet with 70 cars driving dangerously which blatantly breaches Covid-19 regulations. Officers were contacted at 9pm on Saturday 2 January, with reports of around 70 cars driving dangerously and in an anti-social manner around Canvey Island Retail Park and Roscommon Way. A large group of people were also reported to be gathering to watch the cars and not following social distancing. The dispersal order gives officers the power to order people causing anti-social behaviour to leave the area. Breaching any direction given under the order is a criminal offence.
