CANTON A line of vehicles on Wertz Avenue NW awaited entrance to the Stark County Fairgrounds from both directions Wednesday.
People arrived as early as 7:30 a.m. to get a free COVID-19 test no registration required. Canton City Public Health and the Ohio National Guard partnered with other state and local agencies to host the event.
Canton Health Commissioner James Adams said officials closed the gates about 2:30 p.m. when the site reached capacity. The last vehicle left the fairgrounds about 4 p.m., and a total of 661 tests were administered. We appreciate everybody s patience as they work through the process, Adams said.
