Hendry, who has been performing magic tricks since he was a boy, said the society had existed since 1932. “We’re a small group, and I’m the only one who would be consistently performing, so it was great to meet up with magicians around the country. The performers were top class,’’ Hendry said. “Usually we attend a conference every two years, but Covid seems to have delayed tha.’’ He was pleased the audience was a “good mix” of adults and children. “We want to pass on the art of magic to our younger generation. It doesn’t take much to learn tricks,” he said.
