that s all for us tonight. tomorrow i ll sit down with gordon brown and the former president of pakistan, with some lively comments about president obama. but for now, anderson cooper with ac 360. piers, thank you very much. good evening, everyone. we re live in joplin, missouri for the third night in a row. and the story here just keeps evolving here. the horror of what we are seeing here just keeps growing frankly. there is growing frustration and anger among some family members of those who are missing, frustration over red tape over confusing answers and contradictory answers from officials that have made it difficult for them to identify loved ones who they feel may be in the morgue or even get information and clear answers. we re going to try to get answers for them tonight and tell you what they have seen and what stories they are facing, the difficulties they are facing. there s also new and dangerous storms out there tonight as the deadliest tornado season in hal
it just created just enormous devastation. brian, real quickly, have they brought in any type of search dog teams? are they just going on foot house to house trying to find people? right now, randi, they re combing doing what they call a house-to-house grid search. they break up the teams in different groups and they each kind of mark off a grid of the city. that s kind of how rescue teams traditionally do this. we have not seen canine teams o yet. i imagine they will bring in some. we have combed through this part of the city and we did not see any canine teams. right now it appears they re searching on foot for a moment. brian todd bringing us the very latest there from joplin. we also want to bring in now chad meyers. as brian said, the skies are certainly ugly. they ve been threatening throughout the day. are these people in for more bad weather? they could be. except that the weather that just rolled through there in the
garbage. it was a little depressing. but i ll bet those parade organizers are watching tv today and feeling kind of bad. because this is a pretty good parade right here. go bulls. i like that. we got some bulls fans here. now of course, an american doesn t really require irish blood. to understand that ours is a proud, enduring, centuries-old relationship that we are bound by history and friendship and shared values, and that s why i ve come here today as an american president to re-affirm those bonds of affection. earlier today, michelle and i visited moneygall where we saw my ancestral home and dropped by the local pub and we received a very warm welcome from all the people there, including my long-lost eighth cousin, henry. henry now is affectionately known as henry viii. and it was remarkable to see the small town where a young shoemaker named falmouth cart, my grandfather s grandfather lived his early life and i was shown the records from the parish recording his birth
friends, family, those who never knew her held this candlelight vigil for her last night in parsons, tennessee. bobo last seen april 13th by her breaux, who say his saw a large man wearing camouflage lead her into the woods out of her home. crews have widened the search for bobo. they are using all-terrain vehicles, canine teams, helicopters to scour the rugged, wooded landscape. several hundred community volunteers have pitched in to troy to help. be here until they tell us not to, and probably still after that there i ve been out searching a time or two. whatever i can do. we know she s out there. we know she s coming home. we have hope and we have faith. so far, in terms of the search, investigators have found several of bobo s personal items including cell phone, purse, lunch box as well, found in a wooded area eight miles from her home. a $75,000 reward, they tripled
down there. it s a lot of hurry up and wait in a hangar like this one where they re pulling together all the equipment, the gear, the canine teams, boats, everything has to be loaded on to pallets. some of it getting there by air, some of it going in a convoy that we re going to be going in. we re eager to get there. and these guys from the l.a. team right here. they ve got their briefing, fairfax is getting their briefing. a british team may be joining us in the operation. testing out one of the key pieces of equipment. this is the search camera going to be lowered into the rubble. search specialist tom griffin is with me. show us how thing this thing can extend. about 7 feet. we ll typically drill a hole or using an existing void hole to access a victim. the camera head has a light in it which we can adjust the brightness of. it also has a microphone and a speaker in it so we can speak to the victim and hear them. it gives us the ability to do
