A lockdown dilemma has seen a young artist develop her talent and find a new market in vintage portraits for fans of the golden age of steam and classic vehicles. For every generation that goes by, trains and engines continue to be a source of wonder and excitement. Artist Hannah Jayne Walsh was one of those youngsters who was fascinated by steam engines. Little did she imagine, however, when she was a little girl that vintage vehicles would be a mainstay of her business. “I have always been interested in the steam heritage sites as, from a young age, I visited the steam railways not far from our area, Newby Bridge, such as Haverthwaite, Millerbeck and Milnthorpe. I still visit railways now in Cumbria, the most recent one being at Egremont.
