Burgess Hill Choral Society
As chairman Jane Leng explains: “Despite the government restrictions on meeting, in person, for rehearsals and concerts this year, Burgess Hill Choral Society has remained very active with virtual rehearsals and social events.
“We held a very successful online concert on Saturday, December 5 which featured Vivaldi’s Gloria, madrigals and choruses from Jenkins’ The Armed Man and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle in addition to Elgar’s lovely As Torrents in Summer.
“Two of our choir members Mike Hanna and David Mortimer sang beautiful solos during the concert.”
One of the main challenges for choirs who are meeting virtually at this time is that time lags over the internet mean it isn’t possible to sing together live.
