A $100 million grant from the MacArthur Foundation to New York-based Community Solutions is expected to further reduce veteran homelessness in Detroit and other cities.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded the grant to Community Solutions to accelerate an end to homelessness in 75 U.S. communities by 2026, including Detroit.
Community Solution has been working in Detroit for a number of years, providing technical assistance and support around things like data and navigating systems, best practices and support to nonprofits working to end veteran homelessness like Southwest Counseling Solutions and Volunteers of America Michigan.
