Two Longford groups receive €88,323 to fund vehicles

Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys has announced almost €1.3 million to fund vehicles for 26 community-based organisations. Two groups in Longford will receive €88,323 to fund vehicles. Disabled People of Longford and St Christopher s Services are to receive €42,708 and €45,615, respectively.
The vehicles will be used to provide essential transport services for people with mobility issues. The funding is provided under the Mobility and Cancer Care Transport Measure of the CLÁR programme.
It will support voluntary organisations that provide, free of charge:
· transport to and from day care, or other medical therapy and respite services, and/or
Ballinamore Rehabcare to get new vehicle

Minister of State and TD for Sligo Leitrim, Frank Feighan has welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Rural and Community Development , Heather Humphreys of €79,690 for two organisations serving Leitrim towards the purchase of transport vehicles.
The vehicles will be used to provide essential transport services for people with mobility issues.
Rehabcare based in Ballinamore will receive €29,690 towards the purchase of a vehicle.
Saoirse Foundation Centre Regional Service have been awarded €50,000 for a ‘Bumbulance.’
The foundation has a regional service covering the North West and the Bumbulance is the world s first Children’s National Ambulance Service, which is specifically designed and tailored exclusively for children.

3 Mayo based community organisations have received funding under the Mobility and Cancer Care Transport Measure of the CLÁR programme.
The Order of Malta, Mayo, Western Care Ballina, and St. Colemans Centre Achill will receive funding to provide essential transport services for people with mobility issues.
These organisations already provide transport to and from day care, and other medical therapy and respite services, and/or transport to or from designated cancer treatment hospitals and centres under the National Cancer Care Programme.
Total funding for these 3 Mayo based organisations comes to €169,000.

Vital Portlaoise Order of Malta gets ambulance funding boost

Emergency response services in Laois are set to get a boost thanks to a big grant for Portlaoise s Order of Malta.
The voluntary Portlaoise volunteer service is to receive €50,000 to fund an ambulance.
The group is one of 26 projects around Ireland to benefit under the latest round of funding allocated under the CLÁR programme.
The Portlaoise unit welcomed the grant. This grant will allow us to purchase and stock a new ambulance which will be used at a variety of events in and around our community. We provide Ambulance First aod services at various events, Provide transport to our elderly and vulnerable people to respite care or to various hospital appointments. We also run a groceries and medication collection and delivery services for those cocooning or those self isolating.
