LAS CRUCES, N.M. – In March of 2020 our world was changed with the COVID-19 pandemic. Our community was one of many that was struggling and our nonprofits were risking to be shut done with no reopening date in sight.
The Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico and the United Way of Southwest New Mexico saw the need and importance of keeping these nonprofits open and created the Nonprofit Emergency Fund. This fund has helped connect donors with nonprofits in southern New Mexico to keep their doors open in a safe and effective manner during a time of either community need, natural disaster or overwhelming loss of operational revenues.
