Mothering the Prairie MYRTLE HAYES WRIGHT LITTLE more than four weeks ago during the first week of March to be exact the newspapers carried a despatch from Saskatoon which announced with the baldness common to news despatches that a long standing feud among the farmers of Western Canada had been terminated through the amalgamation of the Saskatchewan Grain Growers’ Association and the Farmers’ Union of Canada. Tucked away at the bottom of the story as it appeared in the public prints, was an intimation that the announcement had been authorized by a certain Mrs. John McNaughton and that this Mrs. McNaughton had acted as secretary of the joint committee responsible for artahgihg the marriage.
