Article content The Canada West Swine Health Intelligence Network is warning pork producers that a new strain of Streptococcus zooepidemicus that can wipe out 10 to 20 per cent of the sows in a herd. So far it has been identified in five barns in Canada but it’s also been identified in a couple of culled sow shipments going to the assembly yards or it’s been detected when they arrive at the slaughter plants.
