turning back to one of our top stories this morning, the supreme court has stripped away women s constitutional protections for abortions, and now contentious legal battles are likely to erupt, as lawmakers grapple with the new landscape of abortion access. on friday, u.s. attorney general merrick garland says the justice department strongly disagrees with the court s ruling. in a statement, garland said in part, quote, this decision deals a devastating blow to rep duck tive freedom in the united states. it will have an immediate and irreversible impact on the lives of people across the country and it will be greatly disproportionate in its effect, with the greatest burdens felt by people of color and those with limited financial means. garland also said that states can t ban fda-approved abortion bills on safety ground pills on safety grounds speaking specifically about one fda approved drug. the so-called trigger laws kicking in, more than 80 prosecutors from 29 states including
