NBC News Channel COVINGTON, Wash. (NBC News) - When it comes to making yourself at home this next burglar takes it to the extreme. The suspect, caught on camera through a Ring doorbell video, broke into a home in Covington, Wash. on June 30. The man entered through an unlocked window that the homeowners say was open during an extreme heat wave. The suspect then proceeded to make himself comfortable. He cooked some waffles, ate a lean cuisine and used the bathroom before startling the homeowners awake. Our bedroom door flung open. And there was an individual standing in our bedroom door, Amy Padgett, the homeowner said. The individual then kind of turned around and got to the front door, asked if he could get his shoes. At which point, my husband informed him no, he really needed to leave our home.

King County deputies were called to a Covington residence on June 30 around 4 a.m. Amy Padgett, who lives with her husband and 19-year-old son, told authorities she initially woke up from some noise in the home. Not thinking twice about it, the couple reportedly didn t take action until they heard it a second time. That s when the burglar threw the door open, prompting Padgett to scream and chase the man down the stairs with her husband and son, according to reporters.

A man broke into a Covington home on June 30 and proceeded to start laundry and make himself a snack in the kitchen, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO). Deputies were called to the residence around 4 a.m. When they arrived, they learned that the homeowners had been startled awake by the burglar who opened their bedroom door.
