Springfield police investigate Pine Point homicide; 1 dead, 2 injured in shooting on William Sands Jr. Road

SPRINGFIELD - One man is dead and two others injured in a late night shooting in an apartment in the city’s Pine Point neighborhood, according to police.
Police spokesman Ryan Walsh said one of the 3 shooting victims died Wednesday morning at Baystate Medical Center.
The man’s identity is not being disclosed at this time pending notification of family.
The two other injured men are considered in stable condition, he said.
Walsh said the shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. at an apartment on William Sands Jr. Road, which is near Bay Street and Berkshire Avenue in Pine Point.

He was scheduled to work at Yankee Candle in Deerfield, on a shift starting at 5 p.m. But with temperatures in the 70s and skies sunny and clear on one of the year’s first springlike days, Starks decided to enjoy the rest of his Saturday.
