Thank you for being here at this event. This is our grand opening week and we are thrilled you got to be part of this new site. We want to be a hub for activity, for the best thinking, ideas and consumer consumer information. We hope you come back more in the future. I work primarily on k12 education and as i think about the foundational issues undergirding policy and decentralization and nonprofit groups and pluralism and so forth. That is why this conversation we are having is so important to me and i hope important to you as well because on one level, this conversation about campus politics is about institution of Higher Education spirit is about campuses and hundreds of billions of dollars flow through them and students and faculty and the temperament and disposition thats created by that environment. Discussion about Academic Freedom and diversity on College Campuses panelists include a documentary filmmaker plus authors and filmmakers from Yale University and the universities of michigan in chicago. University of Chicago School of social Service Administration hosted the discussion. It is about 90 minutes. Okay, good evening everyone. I am the dean of the school of social Service Administration here at the university of chicago. I want to thank you for joining us for this evenings event. American universities have long been unique institutions that have unique and controversials ideas that bring to bear deeper analyses in evidence. Such ideas can fuel advances or even breakthroughs on many questions and problems of our day. One of the most indispensable pillars in education which makes as possible is the cardinal principle and practice of Academic Freedom. The pursuit of ideas, concepts, concepts, evidence and knowledge and the passing on of such in the education of our students.
