Police search for teen continues - near Campbelltown

Issued at 5.20pm, Monday 20 January 2021 A coordinated search is continuing for a teenager at The Basin, Kentlyn, near Campbelltown. Just before 2.40pm (Wednesday 20 January 2021), emergency services were called to The Basin, Georges River Road. Kentlyn following reports a 15-year-old boy had not resurfaced while swimming. Police have been told, four teenagers entered the water and only three resurfaced. Witnesses contacted emergency services and officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and commenced a search. Police divers are at the scene assisting. Date Time Campbelltown 2020 Yarning Circle now open Everyone in Campbelltown will be able to experience a part of Aboriginal culture and history after the Campbelltown 2020 Yarning Circle was opened in Koshigaya Park today. The space was developed as part of the Campbelltown 2020 program to recognise more than 60,000 years of Aboriginal history in the region. The Yarning Circle design is the result of months of consultation and collaboration with local Aboriginal Elders and community members. A prominent feature of the Yarning Circle is a series of artworks and carvings depicting the lyrebird which in an Aboriginal Dreaming story that tells the story of the lyrebird as being an animal that was able to communicate with all the other animals to resolve disputes. .
