Theres still two vehicles kind of partially blocking one of the right lanes. So be aware of that. Lets take a look at your commute. Highway four in bay point. Good afternoon, im james torres. Its the friday kicking off memorial day weekend, and we already have some trouble in traffic. Behind me here is a caltrans camera that shows a big rig that caught fire over here on the right right hand side of this screen, there was a fire truck that was blocking some of those lanes. This is the westbound side of the bay bridge headed toward yerba buena island. If youre headed to San Francisco, three lanes of traffic are still moving at this point, but all of that behind it is moving pretty slow. Well take you live now at the bay bridge midway span, where you can see traffic is backed up quite a bit. Youd have to really get into the screen there because there is just a little bit of fogginess hanging out on top of the bay bridge. At this point, it will likely take you more than an hour to get to San Francisco from oakland. Heres what were learning. Doesnt of them still here after responding to reports of 2 of their fellow officers were shot. And then let me show you video. This all went down at around 10, 30 last night when officers came to this location here. Its the extended stay. America to a disturbance call. They were going to obviously check it out when all of a sudden shots ring out from the suspect. The officers, they returned fire. Ultimately 30 people were rushed to the hospital. We do know that those 2 officers were hit by gunfire. Thats when they called for backup. And thats why so many officers came to the scene and still remain at the scene. Theyre walking back and forth looking for evidence, looking to talk to witnesses. Many of those witnesses, of course, were inside the hotel at the time. Let me show you video when this all went down 10, 30 last night when they got a call of a disturbance at the extended stay, america. Thats when they arrived. But those officers had no idea that somebody was going to open fire on them. We understand that this all unfolded on the 3rd floor. They came there according to investigators. The suspect fired shots at the officers. The officers fired shots back. Ultimately 3 people were 2 officers as well as the suspect. Now i got a chance to talk to a woman who was inside at the time. She actually thought she heard fireworks and thought it was a dream. It wasnt. And then all of a sudden about 2 later and bam. And im like, okay, i thought it was my friend or my daughters friend.
