We now know the name of the man who shot at the 2 San Jose Police officers late last night. He has been identified by police as 33 yearold kevin briones. Now the shooting happened around 10, 30 last night at the extended stay. America hotel on the sand ignacio avenue in the santa teresa neighborhood. The citys police chief is saying at least one of the officers returned fire at that suspect and he is now in critical condition. We do have Live Team Coverage on this story for you this afternoon. Police say the owner of chi hair salon committed several assaults, including rape. Kron fours dan thorn reports now from concord. Investigators say this conquered hairstylist. 41 yearold cheat who has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of assault. The allegations include rape, unlawful intercourse and lewd acts with a child. Police say who committed the acts inside of his business on clayton road in concord. My reaction is just, you know, app. So absolutely disgusting. Victoria por 10 ye was a client of whos who says he did good work but sometimes exhibited strange behavior. Pertain ye is also a therapist who feels guilty for suggesting others seek out his Styling Services and for families who may have been victimized. Who they say shot at them. This happened just after 10, 30. They say 2 officers were hit while other officers shot that back at that man. Police say they took the officers and the man to a hospital. The Police Department closed down roads to investigate this shooting. On san ignacio we know that it is closed from vernell road to great oaks boulevard and westbound bernal road is closed from monterey road to san ignacio avenue. There is a possibility that they might have taken at least one other person into custody. So ill try to clarify that. We did see somebody handcuffed, but were not sure if its related to what happened at around 10, 30 last night. So let me show you the video from 10, 30 last night officers. They got a call of a disturbance at this particular area. The officers arrived had no idea that the suspect was going to open fire on them. And thats exactly what happened. The officers returned fire altogether. 3 people were hurt. 2 officers, one suspect. We do know that all 3, of course, were taken to local hospitals. One officer treated and released. Thats the good news. Moderate injuries. However, at 8 oclock this morning, current time right now. The other officers still in the hospital, lifethreatening inj
Houses all day long. As strong winds blew into the south bay, tree cutters were kept busy. Weve seen a lot of trees fall. Reporter this palm tree on 11th ripped into a house. It was hollowed out by bees before the storm hit. You know that, tree has had bees inside. So you can see the beehive. It rotted out. Its been weak for years and the wind was just so strong today it, gave out. Reporter while people and pets were spared injury here, this tree a few blocks away took down power lines, pg e taped off access to the house. Just a loud noise. Just a loud noise. But a lot of strong wind and then of course, you know, we could hear the trees just blowing in the wind. Reporter all right. The good news is, no reported injuries from the downed trees here in san jose thus far. However, tree cutters and pg e crews tell us they will likely be busy into the evening.
