you can t this is just not the way our country is supposed to operate. david: in the commercial break, which is where a lot of fun stuff happens, the most interesting thing about the mueller report was the first 60 pages talking about what russia was doing. he did his job, gave us all the information on what russia was doing, we don t know exactly how russia this information was being filtered into the campaign through the hillary campaign itself, using fusion gps and their legal operatives as well but there was clearly a russian disinformation campaign going on on both sides, trying to get another campaign and trying to get into the hillary campaign. kennedy: that aspect of that russian operation was bad, no matter if they infiltrate a democrat campaign, when they receive millions of dollars are
respect, we re the safest big city in america. that s a fact. we had the strongest economy we ever had, the most jobs we had, the highe esest graduation rate. we had pre-k for all of children. we re on the way for 3-k. these are big changes that are happening in the city. there is always more to do. i m chief executive of the largest city. i have a big team. we re working on this every day. but in the sixth year of mied a minute statio administration, i can keep things moving. we have ramifications from the country. i hear from mayors and leaders that want to emulate bringing police and community together. what we ve done on affordable housing, mental healthcare, we have a model in new york that i think can help change this nation for the better and really favors working people. i think it really important to show this can be done. let talk about the campaign it self-. the vie bltd of the campaign
let s just say that i m looking forward eagerly to read this report whenever it does come out. you know, i m not yet convinced i know enough what to make of these sort of kremlinology signs of the last couple days except that a, there is an enormous amount of evidence the mueller investigation gathered that we ve seen the individual shards of. we haven t been able to put together the mosaic if you will the roger stone indictment for example is just under 30 pages. there is glimpses, a bigger picture named as organization number one but the direct connection to the trump campaign it self-is mirky to me. so i m curious to see whether in fact this u.s. attorney s involvement means that the mueller team won t be around to try this all the way through or whether it indicates some further developments that we re only getting a whiff of.
the report, based on on michael cohen s testimony to the special counsel but also on all this information, including documents from the trump organization. there s a legal term for this story and it s called not good. the obstruction part is fairly obvious. we don t have to think hard for an example of trump doing this. we know, for instance, that he was responsible for the erroneous statement that was drafted on air force one as well. so there is some precedent for trump pushing false testimony so i m not shocked by the buzzfeed story. i think what gets lost in this conversation is not just the obstruction element but what was the underlying story here. during the primary and the campaign itself, trump was pursuing a for-profit venture in a hostile country and obscuring it for the voting public to see. that is a pretty alarming thing
calling a deal disaster for the president. you only get a deal from up the chain. who is up the chain from paul manafort who was the chair of the campaign? roger stone, the campaign itself, and perhaps ultimately the president. i think there is a substantial possibility that this evidence that manafort is offering will.i.wil will implicate someone up the chain. i believe not the end for donald trump, but the beginning of the end for donald trump. he is not going to survive manafort s testimony. joining us now, barbara mcquaid. good to see you, barbara. do you agree with eisen? is this the beginning of the end for the president? i don t know how to frame it in terms of the beginning of the end, but no doubt paul manafort has information of value, because robert mueller gave him something in exchange for that information.
