Summer school gives students another chance to be back in the classroom
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - School districts across Yuma County are gearing up to welcome students back to the classroom for summer school programs.
For one Yuma Elementary School District One (YESDO) student, summer school is going to be the first opportunity for him to finally be back in the classroom since the pandemic began.
Dwayne Keil, a student at James B. Rolle Elementary School says he s excited to be able to see his friends and other students in his grade.
YESDO will have two programs available for students who have unfinished learning this school year due to the pandemic. These programs will help students receive additional instruction they may need by providing students with additional support this summer. Each class size is expected to be from 12-15 students to offer the best learning experience.
