Special to the Journal MARQUETTE The Friends of Camp Batawagama is making progress toward its goal of raising $25,000 online to support the construction of a new bathroom building for boy campers at the Iron County Youth Camp. The $25,000 will cover about one quarter of the projected cost, and it will be “a great way to show larger donors the support Camp Batawagama has from generations of former campers, staff members, parents and fans,” organizers said in a press release. More than $10,000 has been raised as of Dec. 14. “The foundation of Camp Batawagama (Iron County Youth Camp) is strong, thanks to decades of support from Iron County,” organizers said. “To make camp an even better place, the non-profit organization Friends of Camp Batawagama wants to enhance the infrastructure on the land between two waters.”
