That was the cover-title for Newsweek magazine on February 9, 2009, after Barack Obama routed John McCain in the November 2008 presidential election. Democrats picked up eight Senate seats and 21 House seats in that same election, giving them a large majority in the House and a filibuster-proof supermajority in the Senate. Also, Democrats emerged from the elections controlling twice as many state governments as Republicans. Barack Obama and the ascending power-brokers in the Democratic Party embraced Big Government far more passionately than Bill Clinton had. Obama led the left wing of the Democratic Party that held a puppy-love crush on socialist governments around the world.

James Taylor For Mr. Taylor, the most important thing for state legislators and the general public to understand because we have been told this myth over and over again is that Section 230 precludes states from passing legislation that would protect people s free speech rights on the Internet.  Said Taylor: “Yes, federal law preempts state where the two conflict, but Section 230 does not give tech giants (the tech cartels) the right to censor political free speech. This is something the tech giants (the tech cartels) have given a lot of money to a lot of people and a lot or organizations on both sides of the political aisle to lay claim to.”

On Monday, March 22, 2021,  Media Research Center held a Zoom webinar at 1:00 p.m. CST, on how to defeat Big Tech censorship, titled,  Toe to Toe with Big Tech Titans: How states can protect freedom of speech. View the Zoom video here.   Featured were  The Heartland Institute and Cameron Sholty,  Heartland’s Director of Government Relations, and Brent Bozell, founder and president of the  Media Research Center.   Jim Lakely, Vice President of  Heartland and Director of Communications, fielded the question submitted during the Zoom webinar. Opening remarks were made by Brent Bozell.  As Bozell s remarks were quite lengthy, to do justice to them Thorner decided to present Heartland s Zoom presentation in two parts.  To follow is Part 1 featuring Mr. Bozell s cogent remarks about the nature of the Big Tech Titans.
