Former councillor Kate Richards uses LNPâs own rules in defamation claim

Former Brisbane councillor Kate Richards has justified suing a dozen of the LNPâs top brass, including the lord mayor she served alongside, citing the partyâs own rules to argue they are all culpable in her alleged defamation.
It comes after the party released a media statement in December 2019 announcing the disendorsement of the sitting LNP councillor ahead of last yearâs council election and referring her to the Crime and Corruption Commission over unspecified âextremely graveâ allegations.
