Dubai: Would you consider using soap made from camel milk?
A UAE cosmetics company has been quietly using camel milk to create exquisite natural soap, and the concept has caught the eye of the Expo 2020 management.
Developed by Stevi Lowmass, a Dubai-based South African woman, camel milk-based toiletries, which will soon include a skin cream in addition to a range of soaps, draw from the rich Middle Eastern tradition of soap-making, combining what is abundantly available locally with oriental fragrances.
Dubai: By launching alternative revenue streams, evaluating finances to manage cash flow, injecting personal funds into their businesses and negotiating payment terms with partners, UAE-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) undertook several measures to stay afloat during the pandemic.
Financial challenges forced most companies to implement certain drastic changes to their strategy and in the way they worked, said Dr. Christiane Schloderer, CEO of Dubai-based business consulting firm Growth Partners. “Having worked with a mix of companies, we saw that some had troubles, most went by just okay while a few thrived well due to the shift towards digital. We only had one early-stage company that might shut down.”
Expo 2020 Dubai will be a celebration of the UAE Vision 2021 by supporting the growth of tourism, stimulating the development of innovative businesses in the UAE, and enhancing the country’s international reputation as a location to do business.
It will focus on the power of youth and unlock the potential of one of the world’s youngest and fastest growing populations.
Expo 2020 Dubai also coincides with the UAE’s 50th anniversary in 2021, marking an important milestone for the UAE.
