Man found shot multiple times in car in N.J. city dies, police say Updated 10:58 PM; An investigation was underway Tuesday after a man who was found shot multiple times in a car in Camden died, authorities said. Officers were called to 1200 block of Lakeshore Drive shortly after 4 p.m. and found the man, later identified as Lamar Maye, 46, of Camden, and rushed him to a local hospital, according to a joint statement from the Camden County Police Department and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. Maye was pronounced dead at the hospital at 4:23 p.m., the police said. Detectives were working to determine what led to the shooting and who was involved, the office said.

Fatal Shooting Investigated In Camden

Detectives are investigating the killing of a 28-year-old Camden County man, authorities said. Santino Thomas of Sicklerville was shot dead on Thursday night, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. Police officers responded to the 1300 block of Browning St. in Camden for a ShotSpotter activation around 9 p.m. When they arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground between two cars suffering from a gunshot wound, Mayer and Rodriguez said. Thomas was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead around 9:30 p.m., they said. Detectives are currently working to identify any potential witnesses and searching for evidence that could help determine what led up to the shooting, the prosecutor said.
