Updated 8:34 PM;
A 25-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her Camden home, authorities said Tuesday.
Tonia Yamileth was found by police Monday around 8:45 a.m. in an upstairs bedroom at the home on the 1000 block of South 6th Street after officers responded to a report of an unresponsive person, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer.
Yamileth was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. An autopsy revealed she died from a stab wound and blunt force trauma to the neck, officials said.
“Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding her death and who is responsible,” the prosecutor said in a joint statement with Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
Camden County aids city in targeting, demolishing abandoned houses
CAMDEN A small contingent of local officials convened to discuss abandoned houses on the 1200 block of Whitman Street, and within minutes, two residents came out to share their concerns and ask questions.
Lincoln Graham ( two last names, he joked when asked for the spelling of each) wanted to know whether the lot at 1245 Whitman would be for sale, whether another vacant house on the block might be available for him to fix up to resell or rent, whether an empty lot could be used for parking by residents who now park on both sides of an already-narrow street.
