A CRAZED man with a blade unleashed ‘sustained’ terror on a pub where he lashed out at those inside and smashed windows after being chased outside by an angry mob, before licking blood from his hand and spitting at a police officer.
Spencer Saunders was with a friend at St Nicholas Church in Brighton when he was spotted. The 25-year-old tried to run away as police gave chase after getting a tip off about dealing taking place. Saunders was later searched and found in possession of heroin and crack cocaine. He also had a small amount of cannabis. At Lewes Crown Court he admitted possessing the class A drugs with intent to supply. But he was spared a prison sentence because of his lesser role in the drugs gang operation. His Honour Judge Stephen Mooney ordered Saunders to complete 25 rehabilitation sessions and imposed a two-year suspended prison sentence.
