Police arrived at the scene around 6.15am this morning closely followed by four fire engines. It is understood emergency services are still at the scene. A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.15am on Wednesday, 9 June, officers were called to the Cambuslang Road area of Glasgow, following concern for a reported suspicious package. There is no threat to the wider public and officers remain at the scene. Enquiries are still ongoing.

Now, a police spokesman has confirmed there is no danger to the public. He said: Around 6.15am on Wednesday, June 9, officers were called to the Cambuslang Road area of Glasgow, following concern for package. Following enquiries, the package was found to be non-suspicious and there was no risk to the wider public.”

Man arrested after car on fire on M74 as cops shut down road for five hours
The slipway to Cambuslang Road was closed for over 5 hours as officers dealt with the incident.
