Dressed as Santa Claus, accompanied by his wife BettyAnn (Mrs. Claus) and helper dog Briar-Rose, James Regehr presented his sermon God’s Greatest Gift, sharing the message of “Peace on Earth, good will to all” at Gateway Community Church in Canora on December 6, with social distancing. James and BettyAnn Regehr moved to Canora in December 2019, and since then have been growing their ministry as Santa Missionaries, including serving as Santa and Mrs. Clause at the recent Drive By Santa in Canora. Not many of the masses of people who celebrate Christmas closely associate Santa Claus with the birth of the baby Jesus, or Christianity in general. But for James and BettyAnn Regehr of Canora, it’s a connection which they are sharing at every opportunity.
