The Amarillo Traffic Advisory Board has advanced a Texas Department of Transportation speed limit reduction proposal along the Soncy/Hollywood (Loop 335) corridor.
During Wednesday s regular virtual meeting the board voted 4-1 to forward the proposal to the Amarillo City Council. TxDOT is wanting to reduce the speed limit on Soncy, said Michael Padilla, the city’s Traffic Field superintendent. Since that is a State Loop, they do have control of that. They just always like to have the city on their side and operate with the City of Amarillo s blessing.
