Arzel Ivery, the man accused of killing Amarah Jerica Banks and her daughters Camaria Banks and Zaniya Ivery in 2020, pleaded guilty Friday, April 30 to three counts of first-degree intentional homicide.

The bodies of Banks, 26, and her girls were found in a Milwaukee garage one day after an Amber Alert was issued for the 5-year-old Zaniya and 4-year-old Camaria.

Police said they have a good idea why thefts have spiked, and it has everything to do with the type of car you drive issuing another alert to owners of newer model Kia and Hyundai vehicles. It is pretty much an epidemic of motor vehicle theft, said Capt. David Salazar with the Milwaukee Police Department. We’re up about 160% in stolen vehicles from last year.

Man injured in Milwaukee crash near 20th and Walnut: police

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee police said a man was seriously injured in an accident near 20th and Walnut on Friday afternoon, April 30.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. Police said a driver ran a red light, striking another vehicle.
The driver of the striking vehicle fled on foot. The driver of the vehicle that was struck a 64-year-old Milwaukee man was seriously injured. He is now in stable condition.
A passenger of the striking vehicle a 70-year-old Milwaukee man was also injured. Both men were transported to the hospital for treatment.
A 26-year-old Milwaukee man pleaded guilty Friday to killing his former girlfriend and her two daughters last year, less than a day after they attended the funeral of the couple s toddler son.
Arzel Ivery faces mandatory life in prison for the three counts of first-degree intentional homicide at his sentencing July 16.
He was charged with strangling Amarah Jerica Banks, 26, hours after they had attended their son s funeral on Feb. 8, 2020. Arzel Ivery Jr., 21 months, had died from bronchitis.
Banks neighbor saw her running, bleeding and screaming Don t kill me as Ivery dragged her back into their apartment building in the 5900 block of North Sherman Boulevard early on Feb. 8, 2020. Police responded to a 911 call about the incident but found no one.
