Golden Hawks Meet Regals on the Road

THESE GAMES HAVE BEEN POSTPONED The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams travel to Iowa City tonight to meet Regina in a rivalry doubleheader. The Golden Hawk girls enter action with an overall record of 8-7 on the year, 8-6 in the River Valley Conference. They were last in action a week ago when they beat Tipton on Senior Night in Wellman 38-33 behind Maddie Nonnenmann’s 13 points and Phelan Hostetler’s 11. On the season, the Hawks are led by Nonnenmann at 13 points and seven rebounds per game. Amara Jones leads Mid-Prairie with four assists and three steals per game.

Golden Hawks Go North Friday

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams make the long road trip to Camanche Friday to battle the Indians. The Golden Hawk girls come into the  night with an 8-7 record on the year after a 38-33 Senior Night win over Tipton Tuesday. In the victory against the Tigers, the Hawks were led by Maddie Nonnenmann with 13 points and Phelan Hostetler with 11. On the year, Mid-Prairie is paced by Nonnenmann at 13 points and seven rebounds per night. Amara Jones is averaging four assists and three steals per game. Camanche is 3-12 on the season. The Indians were beaten Tuesday 52-33 by Cascade. For the year they are led by Aubrey Carstensen at eight points and six rebounds per game. These two teams met a year ago with the Golden Hawks winning 51-29 in Wellman.

Mid-Prairie At Anamosa Saturday

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams are ready for action again Saturday when they hit the road for Anamosa. The Mid-Prairie boys come into the day with an overall record of 5-2, they are 5-1 in the River Valley Conference after suffering their first league setback of the year Friday at West Branch to the No. 13 ranked Bears 44-41. In that game, Aidan Rath led the Hawks with 16 points. Carter Harmsen added 13. For the season, Harmsen is the leader at 25 points and eight rebounds per game. Jack Pennington leads the Golden Hawks at six assists and three steals per game.
