Conservatives lost overall control of the council when the votes were counted on Friday (May 7).
They won 28 seats out of 61, three short of a majority, and eight seats fewer than they won in 2017.
Cllr Steve Count on home territory in Fenland where he retained his seat, as did all Tory colleagues. But across Cambridgeshire a different picture emerged as the county council went to no overall control.

The Liberal Democrats secured 20 seats, five more than in 2017, picking up a number of seats in South Cambridgeshire and East Cambridgeshire.
Cllr Count said the extent of growth – referring to housing development and infrastructure plans – was “possibly the main reason” his party lost seats in the south of the county.
