Three Marengo County men are behind bars tonight charged with trying to kill a Pine Hill police officer.
Twenty-two year old Calvin Ferguson, Jr. 22 year old Joseph Dennis and 22 year old Jeremiah Dennis all of Dixons Mills have been arrested and charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.
Pine Hill Police Chief Nikisha Gailes says the arrests stem from an incident on New Year’s night that started as a routine traffic stop.
“Once the car came to a complete stop, Officer See exited his vehicle and as he was approaching their vehicle, the vehicle sped off at a high rate of speed,” said Gailes.
