PARK RAPIDS, Minn. Ice fishing is always a popular activity in this neck of the woods. With many activities curtailed due to COVID-19 regulations, it is drawing even more participants this season.
“More people have been ice fishing this winter because a lot of things are not happening due to COVID-19,” said Calub Shavlik, who is the acting area supervisor at the Department of Natural Resource fisheries office in Park Rapids. “People just want to get out of the house and do something, and that has increased the number of people going out on the ice.”
