Unless the settlement includes non-disclosure agreements and nobody in the family publicly shares their view.
Taking sides could mean for the kids no more Microsoft freebies from Bill for Christmas or birthdays.
If only money could buy you happiness…
Money did not buy happiness, but it bought a week-long vacation on a private island away from a misbehaving husband and father.
Melinda hoped to be unreachable at the time of the March announcement. She rented a private island for $132,000 per night. The entire family would escape the media crush on Calivigny Island in Grenada.
However, Bill Gates was not invited to Caribbean island. The family blames Bill for the divorce. According to TMZ, “There’s a considerable amount of acrimony associated with the split and virtually everyone in the family took Melinda’s side.”
Melinda Gates reportedly rented a private $132,000-a-night island so that she and her family would be able to avoid media attention amid her divorce from her husband of 27 years, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
Earlier this week, the billionaire couple announced their decision to end their marriage, writing in a joint statement at the time:
âAfter a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage.â
Melinda actually filed papers in court confirming that the marriage was âirretrievably broken.â
However, sources toldÂ
TMZÂ that the couple had actually planned to make the announcement in March, at which point Melinda then rented Calivigny Island in Grenada to escape media scrutiny.
