Gavin Newsom signed an executive order to improve access to higher paying and more fulfilling careers for students and workers, while the Senate Public Safety Committee passed a resolution to call a constitutional convention to address gun violence in America, and the California Senate announced leadership changes on both sides of the aisle.
Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer and other Democratic lawmakers, including witness April Grayson, have received death threats and racial slurs after not supporting Senate Bill 14, which proposes adding the sex trafficking of minors to California's Three Strikes law; Jones-Sawyer hopes that the Assembly Appropriations Committee can examine the legislation without facing similar attacks.
