we ve got races still going down the wire. let s break it down, former biden surrogate kevin walling. jason chaffetz and rnc committee will meet for california harmeet dhillon. good to see you tonight, great to have you. good morning and good evening, shannon. quite a visual early tonight when glenn youngkin had taken to the stage as governor-elect of virginia to give a victory speech at the same time president biden was returning on air force one and the east coast returning to washington. he had been fighting on the hill to get some big packages done and he went out to lend his voice to get this mcauliffe win in virginia as well. he s got a tough road in trying to get anything done on the hill. the party is split. this win in virginia, the race new jersey way closer than what
fabrication. it s disappointing but not surprising to see political opponents launch these false attacks just days before the election. and we also know governor newsom does have plans to campaign here in l.a. at some point later today. mike: marian rafferty, thanks very much. let s wring in our political panel, founder of the center for american liberty and rnc committeewoman for california harmeet dhillon and fox news contributor richard fowler. welcome to both of you. good to see you. happy to be here. mike: how engaged are folks in this recall election? well, i think people are pretty upset across the political spectrum about the abysmal situation we have here in california. you heard larry elder mention some of the main reasons, but for decades now democrats have been controlling california and failing. we are losing a congressional seat in california because so many people are moving out of california.
that is sort of where the democratic message is going to be if the last two nights were any indication. the president will depend his economy robustly, but i do think democrats have an opportunity to go into industrial midwest states. to go into the farm communities and say, yeah, the economy is improving. it s just not improving for everyone. we can do better. shannon: okay, and to this point. harmeet: shannon, can i respond to that? shannon: sure. harmeet: i was going to say a lot of the people on the stage have been in power for many generations in the country. joe biden has been in power for more than i have been a life. in all of those years, they have been neglecting what moe is mentioning so to come back and say, we have solutions for you, those people who voted for donald trump because democrats have neglected them so it is too late to start talking about socialism as a sort of fix for their failures.
shannon: mo: i don t think a lot of them are peddling socialism. you have bernie sanders running as a democratic socialist period. i think democrats miss an opportunity in 2016 to go into the communities and make a proactive case, but for a lot of the voters in those states, the states that donald trump when in and worked and took those votes away from democrats, democrats are saying, we get your frustration, but he hasn t lived up to the promise he made. that is what you will hear them i think try to make. elizabeth warren sort of laid that foundation last night. and so you see other candidates sort of run with that as well. he promised he would do it differently and he just has not yet. in fact, for some making it worst. we will see if that sticks, but i think that is the core. shannon: harmeet, you heard about the fact that for farmers and people out there important to the president support and now
