The officer discharged their firearms. Reporter police are not saying how many shots were fired or how many officers were involved but no officers were injured. They say the suspects gun has been recovered here at the scene. He was taken to the hospital where he did die. Reminder of the deadly incident that began at 59th and international where an officer tried to stop a car that was involved in a july armed robbery. The person did not pull over and led to a high speed chase. But during the course of the pursuit we were able to get the helicopter overhead. Reporter police say the driver collided with the car. The helicopter pilot then told officers he could see the suspect attempting an armed carjacking and told units to move in. Police say after a failed carjacking, the suspect ran and three officers confronted him, ordering him to drop his gun. The suspect advanced towards the officers while holding a pistol in his hand with three officers fired at the suspect. All three officers fired their weapons. Police say officers then used knewly issued trauma packs to try to help the oakland man. He later died at a hospital. All three officers were wearing activated body cameras and investigators are now reviewing that footage that many protesters would like
