It s been challenging to say the least, said owner Saul Gropman.
They were able to stay afloat by the addition of six outdoor tables on the sidewalk as well as increased take out orders. The biggest challenge has been communication from the state, said Gropman about the changing regulations as the virus has surged through the community.
Sonoma County has faced some of the harshest restrictions in the state. When the Blueprint for a Safer Economy was implemented in August, they remained in the purple tier even as neighboring counties dipped into less restrictive tiers. The restrictions from the health departments are widely different from Napa to Sonoma counties, observed Gropman.

As COVID-19 case rates continue to drop, two Bay Area counties Marin and San Mateo moved into the red tier Tuesday. Even more counties look poised to make the change next week.
If or when that happens, it means a host of changes for businesses, from restaurants to gyms to movie theaters.

The entire San Joaquin Valley moved from a stay home order to the purple tier Monday, a major change for the regional economy.
A place like River Park can really spring back to life because, for example, just in one row are several businesses that can reopen restaurants, personal care services, and nails salons all allowed to reopen with Fresno County now in the purple tier.
Across the state, those businesses employ thousands of people who theoretically lost their jobs for the last seven weeks.
In a letter to restaurant owners, the California Restaurant Association announced that officials with Gov. Newsom's office plan to lift the stay-at-home order in all regions of the state on Monday.
