The annual California Coastal Cleanup Day calls for volunteers to hit the beach and clear their favorite shorelines of debris. More than 700 organized cleanups were planned statewide on Saturday.
The 39th annual California Coastal Cleanup got underway on Saturday, Sept. 23. The event has grown to include cleanups as far inland as Riverside and Pasadena, where volunteers are able to catch trash before it enters the beaches.
