Soccer fans have been waiting a long time for this day and while the San Jose Earthquakes didn’t win, for most fans just being at PayPal Park was a victory.
Saturday’s San Jose Earthquakes game against the Los Angeles Galaxy was Santa Clara County s largest event since county leaders became the first in the nation to push for a shelter-in-place order.

Javier Chicharito Hernandez scored twice, once in each half, to lead the visiting LA Galaxy to a 3-1 win over the struggling San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night.
Hernandez, the Galaxy s big-name striker from Mexico, scored in the 11th and 50th minutes for the Galaxy (7-3-0, 21 points), who have won three of their last four games.
The Galaxy have won both meetings against San Jose (3-7-1, 10 points), with one match to go against their California Clasico rivals. The Earthquakes are winless in their last seven games (0-6-1) and have scored only two goals in that span.
