That incident haunted Short, who spent years trying in-and out-patient therapy and a variety of different pharmaceuticals to treat his post-traumatic stress disorder. Short finally found relief from his PTSD symptoms with psilocybin mushrooms, a substance that has been decriminalized in Denver and five other cities across the country, and in the state of Oregon. Short and the organization Decriminalize Nature hope to pass a similar measure here in Colorado Springs.
