In March 2019, Kamala Harris’ campaign stump speech mesmerized Houston’s Harris supporters. What the audience didn’t know at the time was that this would become a historic moment in Harris County history; they were in the presence of the future first female vice president of the United States.
“This is Harris County’ slogans were painted across a sea of signage throughout the crowded Texas Southern University (TSU) recreation center gymnasium. Her decision to host a campaign stop at TSU, the heart and soul of Houston, left a lasting impression on its students. TSU’s President of the College Democrats Tyler Smith was thrilled with VP Harris’s visit and support of HBCUs, especially his HBCU, which has been one of the most populated in the U.S.

As Donald Trump paves the way for Joe Biden to take oath on Wednesday, as the 46th President of the United States of America, Indian origin Kamala Harris will take oath as the first woman Vice-President of the US, amidst tight security.
Ahead of the event, Gopalan Balachandran, the maternal uncle of Kamala Harris had a message for her. Speaking to news agency ANI, he said, There s no message I can give, I didn t help her become Vice-President. She did all on her own. All that I ll tell her is do whatever Shyamala (Kamala Harris s mother) taught you. You ve been doing fine so far, keep it up. It s all I can say.

Kamala Harris, US Vice President-elect officially resigned from her Senate seat on Monday less than two days before the inauguration. On a parting note, Harris released a video message in which she thanked her team for managing her affairs in the upper chamber of the United States Congress during her four-year term.
