MARSHALL, MI (WNWN/WTVB) â The Calhoun County Public health Department says they will receive its first shipment of Pfizerâs COVID-19 vaccines as soon as this weekend. The vaccines are being shipped to health departments and hospitals around the country and state.
At the start, vaccine distribution will be limited to paid and unpaid persons working in healthcare settings who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious materials, and are unable to work from home, as well as residents and workers in long term care facilities.
Next in line will be essential workers. Those are the people who play a key role in keeping critical functions of society running and cannot socially distance in the workplace. The next phase includes high-risk adults, such as those with medical conditions that are risk factors for severe COVID-19 illness, and adults 65 years of age or older.
