Cochrane and other communities including the Stoney Nakoda First Nations, Calgary, Canmore and Banff are continuing to engage in talks over a mass transit strategy for the Bow Valley corridor.
The Town of Cochrane recently endorsed a Memorandum of Understanding between the provincial and federal government and the Canadian Infrastructure Bank to use as a baseline for discussions and planning between the various organizations and communities going forward.

When the subject was raised two years ago, one of the more exciting elements of Bow Valley transit discussion was the potential for a passenger train service with stops in communities throughout the corridor including Cochrane. It doesn’t appear that will be feasible anytime soon, and neither will mass transit-style bussing without provincial and federal help.
