PROVO, Utah - No. 9 BYU men’s track and field recorded three new personal records in the 400-meter hurdles, javelin throw and pole vault during Wednesday’s home meet at the Robison Track & Field Complex.
McWhorter, the No. 2-ranked pole vaulter in the country and BYU record holder, finished in sixth place after clearing a height of 18 feet, 4 1\/2 inches to lead the Cougars.
BYU’s Kenneth Rooks won the semifinal heat of the 3,000-meter steeplechase on the opening day of the NCAA track and field championships in Eugene, Ore.
